In August 2022, voters approved an $80 million Capital Facilities Bond with more than 66% support, making it possible for Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One to invest in critical infrastructure that will serve our community for generations.

The bond funds a series of projects focused on improving firefighter safety, enhancing emergency response capabilities, and replacing or modernizing aging facilities throughout the District.

Projects include:

• Construction of the Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One Training Campus adjacent to Station 58, providing a dedicated, state-of-the-art facility for firefighter training.
• Replacement of Station 51 with a modern, two-story facility designed to support today's emergency response needs and future community growth.
• Renovations and improvements to Stations 53, 57, 58, and 59, including health and safety upgrades, ADA accessibility improvements, seismic upgrades, and expanded living quarters.
• Dedicated decontamination facilities and gear storage areas to help reduce firefighters' exposure to carcinogens and other hazardous contaminants.

These investments ensure our firefighters have the facilities, equipment, and training environments needed to safely and effectively serve our community for decades to come.
