Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One is governed by a five-member Board of Fire Commissioners elected by the residents of the District. Each Commissioner represents the entire service area and serves a staggered term to provide continuity in leadership and governance.

The Board establishes District policies, adopts the annual budget, provides fiscal and administrative oversight, and helps guide the long-term direction of the organization. Drawing on a diverse range of civic, professional, and business experience, the Commissioners work to ensure the District remains accountable to the community and focused on providing high-quality emergency services.

The Board of Fire Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted. Meetings are held at District Headquarters and are open to the public. Community members are welcome to attend in person, virtually via Zoom, or by phone.
