Kindergarten - Community Helpers

Students learn who firefighters and paramedics are, how they help the community, and when children might need their assistance.

1st Grade – Sounds of Safety

Students are introduced to important alert sounds—like smoke alarms—and learn what actions to take when they hear them.

2nd Grade – Water Safety

Children explore basic water safety rules, the importance of supervision, and how to make safe choices around pools, beaches, and open water.

3rd Grade – Bike Safety

Students learn essential bike safety skills, including proper helmet use, roadway awareness, and how to ride responsibly.

4th Grade – Lithium-Ion Battery Safety

This lesson teaches students how everyday devices use lithium-ion batteries, how to identify hazards, and what steps to take if a battery is damaged or overheating.

5th Grade – The Great Escape (Home Fire Safety)

Students develop a complete home fire escape plan, learn how to identify safe exits, practice meeting place strategies, and understand how to respond quickly in an emergency.
