A Message from the Chief

Welcome to Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One,

Thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to learn more about our department.

It is my privilege to lead this department and to serve alongside the members of Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One who show up, every hour of every day, for the 53,000 residents of our district. Whether the call is a medical emergency, a house fire, a water rescue, or something no one saw coming, our members respond with speed, skill, and compassion. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and it is the standard our community deserves.

Our work extends well beyond emergency response. We are equally committed to preventing emergencies before they happen through fire safety education, CPR and first aid training, code enforcement, and community outreach. The best call we run is the one we never have to.

None of this is possible without you. Your support sustains this department, and we never lose sight of that. In August 2022, our residents made a significant investment in their own safety by approving a capital bond, and I am genuinely excited about what that support is making possible. New and modernized facilities. Infrastructure built to serve this peninsula for decades to come. These projects are underway now, and you will find updates, timelines, and financial information throughout this site. I encourage you to follow the progress and see what your investment is making possible.
