Request Process

Advance Notice: Submit your request at least 14 business days before your desired ride along date.

Schedule: Ride along's typically start at 8:00 AM and last 4-6 hours. Extensions may be granted with special permission.

Confirmation Required: Attendance is only allowed with District approval. You will receive a confirmation if your request is approved.

Discretionary Participation: The District reserves the right to deny or cancel ride along participation at any time, for any reason.

Minors: Participants under 18 years must have a parent/guardian sign the Release and Liability Waiver and meet all eligibility requirements

Eligibility Requirements

Participants may not be actively participating in a hiring process for any position within Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One. (required)

To participate in the Ride Along Program, you must meet at least one of the following criteria. Please review and select all that apply before moving to the next page. (required)

I am a non-uniformed employee of the District.

I am an immediate family member (16 years or older) of District personnel.

I am a current first responder from another jurisdiction.

I am medical staff from a local hospital or healthcare organization.

I am a member of recognized news media.

I am affiliated with a partnering agency or school (per agreement).

I am a student enrolled in a paramedic, EMT, or firefighter training program.

I am a student (16 years or older) in a Peninsula School District program or interested in the fire service field.

I have been referred or recommended by a Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One employee.
