2026 Safe Sitter® Course Details
Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students ages 11–14 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. This instructor-led class is interactive and engaging, featuring fun games, role-playing, and hands-on practice.
Students will learn: Safety Skills, Child Care Skills, First Aid & Rescue Skills, Life & Business Skills
Cost: $40 per student
Length: 1-day course (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Includes a short graduation ceremony for family to attend.
Class Size: Limited to 16 students per class
Ages: 11 to 14 years old (Grades 6–8)

Registration Information
Priority registration is given to students living within Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One’s service area (98332, 98333, and 98335). If cancellations occur, students within our service area will be contacted first to fill available openings.
Students outside our service area are welcome to register but will be placed on a waitlist. If openings remain one week prior to the class date, out-of-area students on the waitlist will begin being contacted to fill remaining spots.
After submitting a registration form, our team will review registrations during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, excluding holidays). Families will receive a follow-up email with either:
- A payment link* to confirm the student’s spot in class
- A waitlist notification if the class is full
*Due to high demand and limited class sizes, payment must be received within 2 days of receiving the payment link or the spot may be offered to another student.
