Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One currently has four fire stations that are staffed 24/7. Of those four stations, three of them are staffed with an Advanced Life Support transport unit (Medic Unit). All of which are staffed with a Paramedic/Firefighter and an EMT/Firefighter.

The other station is staffed with a Basic Life Support transport units and EMT/Firefighters. These units also have the ability to transport patients.

Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One responds to and transports all types of medical emergencies, both minor and life threatening. We currently have 17 Paramedics and 65 EMTs as shift response personnel. In addition, we also have 15 EMTs who are volunteer firefighters.

An EMT provides basic medical care which includes, bleeding control, splinting of suspected fractures, spinal immobilization and assisting paramedics with advanced procedures.

Paramedics provide advanced level of care to include medication administration, advanced treatment for patients with respiratory emergencies and cardiac arrests.

The Medical Division is constantly evaluating new techniques and technologies to incorporate into our organization in an ongoing effort to continually improve the service we provide to the citizens of the Gig Harbor Peninsula.
